RADIO BASEBALL CAREER

Round Rock Express – 22 seasons in Round Rock, as the only play by play voice in franchise history. Currently work with former Astros and Orioles pitcher Travis Driskill, and have worked with former major leaguers Steve Busby (filling in on Texas Rangers Network), Harold Reynolds, Tim Kurkjian and Kevin Kennedy (fill in ESPN work), Steve Sparks(filling in on Astros Radio), Bruce Ruffin, Keith Moreland, Kelly Wunsch and former Oakland A’s RHP Kirk Dressendorfer.

ESPN Radio – have broadcast occasional fill-in major league games on ESPN radio. Worked with Tim Kurkjian, Harold Reynolds and Kevin Kennedy.

ESPN 2 – telecast the 2009 AAA National Championship Game on the network, with former New York Yankees 1B Chris Chambliss alongside as color analyst.

VERSUS – telecast the 2010 AAA National Championship game on this network, and had Chambliss alongside.

Minor League Broadcaster of the Year – 2009 Ballpark Digest, 2006 Minor League News.

NEWS CAREER

ABC News – Deputy Bureau Chief/Assignments Manager – Midwest Bureau. Spent one year with the network, in charge of all network news coverage in the 12 state region. Worked directly assigning correspondents and crews to news coverage, while serving as liaison with the network desks in New York for ABC World News Tonight, Good Morning America, This Week with David Brinkley, and ABC Weekend News.

CNN – Network Correspondent. Spent five years with the network as a correspondent covering stories all over the world including: the original Gulf Wars (two tours, total of eight months in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Iraq), the Branch Davidian siege in Waco, Texas, the bloody overthrow of the Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristede, and the Midwest Floods of 1993, as well as several hurricanes.

WFAA-TV, Dallas-Ft.Worth. Served in a number of roles at the top ABC affiliate in management and editorial roles, including: Ft.Worth Bureau Chief, supervising a staff of 12, covering news in Ft.Worth, western Texas and the southwest U.S.; Executive Sports Director, supervising a sports staff of 10 in coverage of all major league sporting events; Senior Reporter, covering sixteen Space Shuttle missions, and Hurricane Alicia that hit Houston and Galveston (my coverage led ABC World News tonight, the first time in ABC history a local correspondent led both east and west coast broadcasts).

KPRC-TV, Houston. Police beat reporter, weekend anchor.

2009 Ballpark Digest Baseball Broadcaster of the Year. Chosen by highly recognized international website from all broadcasters at all levels.

2006 Minor League News Broadcaster of the Year. Chosen from more than 700 broadcasters in all minor league sports.

National Emmy Nomination for live, ten-hour-long broadcast of the fiery end of the Branch Davidian Siege in Waco, seen by over 400 million people worldwide.

Cable Ace Award for the live Waco broadcast.

George F. Peabody Award for the investigation a producer and I conducted over a three year period that resulted in the downfall of the SMU football program.

Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award for the SMU football investigation.
